The Midnight Dredge

They think they’ve cornered a fugitive, but they’re about to discover they’ve unleashed a man trained to dismantle empires. In the frozen dead-end of Nome, Alaska, Jonathan Hunt just wanted to be left alone. Two years ago, he was a CIA "architect of collapse" who broke nations for a living; now, he’s a scarred giant dredging gold in the Bering Sea, keeping a promise to a woman named Rosa: no more violence.

But the silence of the frontier is shattered when a local girl vanishes, and a serial killer begins carving a path through the ice. When a ruthless mining syndicate murders Hunt’s boss—a man who couldn’t even breathe without an oxygen mask—the town turns its suspicion on the outsider. Trapped between a bloodthirsty posse and a killer in the shadows, Hunt must break his vow. They think they’ve cornered a fugitive, but they’re about to discover they’ve unleashed a man trained to dismantle empires.
