The Empowered Family

Smartphone addiction, over-scheduling, and coddling are undermining children's independence, critical thinking, and life skills. The Empowered Family provides structured guidance for parents ready to push back against these trends. Written by Nicole Shiffler, a homeschooling mother of seven who has coached thousands of families, this book offers actionable tools organized around three pillars: parents, family, and the child.

The Empowered Family champions a return-to-childhood approach rooted in unstructured play, child-led learning, and meaningful family contribution. Research published in the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics links household chores to improvements in peer relationships, life satisfaction, and academics. Shiffler translates findings like these into hands-on strategies, from cozy hygge family nights to child-led adventures that build confidence and self-direction. Listeners will also find:
