Otherside

Michael Mammay’s iconic character Colonel Carl Butler once more finds himself caught up in the machinations of colonial oppressors, corrupt corporations, and an alien race that will do whatever it takes to prevent xenocide—in the action-packed sixth installment of the Planetside series.

Peace was the plan. Survival is the reality.

When a cryptic message from an old ally hints at trouble on the developing colony world of Laggar, retired colonel Carl Butler dives back into the world he hoped that he’d left behind him.

Laggar is a powder keg waiting for a spark. On the surface, the planet is a frontier of opportunity, boasting breathable air and high-tech ambition. But beneath the veneer of progress lies a society fractured by deep-seated prejudice. The Cappans from Butler’s past are now alien refugees and have become brilliant engineers of the colony’s future. But they are marginalized and targeted, forced to turn to their own dangerous methods for protection.

Drawn into the conflict to investigate widespread kidnapping, Butler finds himself navigating a treacherous landscape where the motives of corporations, armed gangs, aliens, law enforcement, and the military itself all comes into question. When a meeting with local leaders ends in gunfire, Butler realizes he hasn’t just walked into a political dispute—he’s stepped into the crosshairs.

Hunted by shadowy players and trapped in a web of conspiracy, Butler discovers that on Laggar, the only way out is through. And this time, doing the right thing might just cost him everything.
