Greedy Sexist Religious Bigots

In this irreverent and entertaining world history, acclaimed author of On This Day in History Sh!t Went Down James Fell explores humanity's checkered past to determine if we can overcome avarice, misogyny, zealotry, and hate to ultimately save our species from extinction.

Behold! Profane and profound, sarcastic and sensitive, Greedy Sexist Religious Bigots is a superbly argued historical roller coaster driven by an entertaining, eloquent, and exceedingly opinionated storyteller, weaving tales of our species’ atrocities and accomplishments across the ages.

A wholly unwhitewashed version of human history, Greedy Sexist Religious Bigots presents tales of humanity’s triumphs alongside its tragedies. From humans’ early instincts to be kind and altruistic (and also violent and xenophobic) to the rising power of monotheistic religions that steered the course of history (and also helped create the concept of racism) to how capitalism assisted in creating greater freedoms (and also bought off the masses to better exploit them), James Fell’s mission to explain how these frequently misunderstood unsavory behaviors evolved and shaped our societies will make readers laugh, cry, think, and despair, but also have hope for the future.
