Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad: Chama, New Mexico to Antonito, Colorado

For years I have wanted to take the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad between Chama, New Mexico and Antonito, Colorado. I heard it was a fantastic trip! Built in 1880, and restored in 1970, the history is so interesting. It is the longest historic train, 64 miles, and the highest, 10,015 feet, in the country. This area of Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado is beautiful and remote. The train is a great way, and for many portions, the only way, to see it. I was not disappointed! As a matter of fact, I was thrilled. I include many interesting stories and tidbits of information.
