Controlled Access

Controlled Access is a psychological conspiracy thriller about a hidden organization that does not need to kidnap people by force—it simply controls the systems meant to protect them.

Mercer operates through schools, courts, hospitals, airports, correctional facilities, private carriers, and government databases. A changed custody order, an altered medical chart, a cloned credential, or a redirected transfer can make an ordinary person disappear while every official involved believes they followed proper procedure.

FBI agent Gary Cook has spent years searching for the truth about his sister Rachel’s disappearance. When former operative Deacon Fulton reveals that Rachel may have been one of Mercer’s victims, Gary joins investigative journalist Elle Jensen, harbor master Jon Rourke, federal agent Miguel Torres, and a scattered network of survivors and unlikely allies.

As Mercer tracks them through digital records, transportation systems, and official channels, the group is forced to abandon technology and disappear through back roads, private airstrips, hidden cabins, and analog communications. But escape is not enough. To expose Mercer, they must turn its greatest weapon against it—creating a doorway the organization cannot resist entering.

Dark, tense, and fast-moving, Controlled Access explores institutional corruption, missing women, surveillance, buried crimes, and the terrifying power of people who decide who is allowed through the door.
