Collective Confidence

What separates extraordinary teams from ordinary ones? It’s not talent, resources, or luck—it’s collective confidence.

From the USS Honolulu submarine crew to the underdog Croatian soccer team, from IDEO’s design studio to the Quecreek Mine rescue, organizational psychologist Dr. André Martin (author of Wrong Fit, Right Fit) reveals how ordinary teams achieve extraordinary results when they truly believe in each other—and why most never get there. The evidence is clear: the collective, not the individual, is now the primary unit of performance in virtually every domain—from businesses navigating disruption to teams chasing championships to communities rising to meet their biggest challenges.

Drawing on decades of research and frontline case studies, Martin introduces six foundational principles that build and sustain collective confidence—the shared belief that a group, team, or collective holds in their capability to achieve greatness. More than theory, this book delivers a proprietary assessment tool, inspiring stories, and real-world strategies to transform your team from a collection of talented individuals into a cohesive force capable of unparalleled achievements.

In a world full of uncertainty, your team should be your greatest competitive advantage. Collective Confidence will show you how to make that a reality—and why it changes everything.
