Bereavement Committee

Lady Miss Jacqueline and her crew are back, and this time, the drama is divine.

When Lady Miss returns to her great-aunt's church in New Orleans to plan the funeral of the beloved Mother Miss Pearline, she discovers that the humble congregation of her youth has been transformed into a megachurch conglomerate run by holograms, subscriptions, and an AI named Earncybot. At the center of it all is the scheming Illuminate Slanders, a woman with five dead husbands, a suspicious will, and a dangerous plan to upload every church member's consciousness into her AI network.

To honor her aunt's final wish and reclaim the church from Slanders' grip, Lady Miss must rally her mother Delia (Sheryl Lee Ralph), the ever-resourceful Baroness (Danielle Brooks), the loyal Butler (Zachariah Porter), and a young church worker named Virginia Jones, navigating fake influencer funerals, metaverse infiltrations, undercover disguises, and decades of buried family secrets. Through its blend of sharp satire, Southern church culture, and genuine heart, Bereavement Committee is a story about what happens when faith meets technology, family meets obligation, and Lady Miss meets someone she can't simply insult into submission. Grab a plate, find a pew, and hold on to your wig.
