Beneath the Blue

Sheriff Jon Marzett thought the Florida Keys would offer him a quieter life.

After bringing down a powerful drug cartel in Big Pine Key during his first weeks on the job, Jon hoped the worst was finally behind him. The island seemed like the perfect place to start over. Aquamarine water and emerald palm trees. A community where life moved a little slower.

Except paradise wasn’t always what it seemed.

When the body of a teenage girl is discovered tangled in the mangroves, Jon quickly realizes her death was no accident. The girl had been bound, and the strange symbol carved into her wrist suggests something far darker than a simple tragedy.

When another girl disappears, Jon realizes the first body in the mangroves was only the beginning.

As Jon and his loyal K-9 partner, Max, dig deeper, a troubling pattern begins to emerge. Vulnerable girls are vanishing across the Keys, slipping through the cracks of a system that was supposed to protect them.

The deeper Jon goes, the clearer it becomes that someone powerful is working hard to keep the truth buried.

Suddenly, it seems that in a place where the water stretches to the horizon and the sky is always clear, the darkest secrets wait just beneath the blue.
