Beastkin Healer: Book One (Mend or Smite 1)

Fifteen years as a Los Angeles paramedic taught Daniel two things: how to keep people alive, and how to spot a lost cause. When he steps in front of a semi-truck to save a stranger, Daniel assumes his shift is permanently over. Instead, he wakes up in a fantasy realm governed by a mysterious System, thrust into a new life with the Healer class, infinite mana, and a starting level that defies all local logic.

But Halver’s Reach is a frontier town built on dungeon loot and deep-seated prejudice. The established Healer’s Guild serves the wealthy humans and elves, leaving the marginalized beastkin to bleed. Daniel didn't leave his oath on the asphalt of Route 9. He does what he has always done: he treats the patients in front of him.

Taking up with a veteran, all-beastkin dungeon party – including a towering bear-kin warrior and a sexy, lightning-fast rabbit scout – Daniel brings modern triage to a brutal world. But healing the "wrong" people makes you a heretic. When the Guild’s systemic bigotry escalates into deadly consequences for the beastkin quarter, Daniel discovers that his new System class comes with a dark counterpart to his healing magic.

He has the power to mend bone and flesh. Now, he’s going to learn how to break it.

The doctor is in. And the debt is coming due.
