111 Thoughts High School Teachers Can’t Say Out Loud

Survive & Thrive in High School Teaching

~ This book is for all the teachers who lose sleep over other people's children ~

If you’ve ever taught teenagers, you’ve probably had at least one of these thoughts! Maybe before the first lesson of the day. Maybe reading a parent email. Maybe while standing beside the copier, holding a stack of tests, wondering how one machine can sense fear, deadlines, and low ink toner at the same time.

111 Thoughts High School Teachers Can’t Say Out Loud is a funny, honest, and sharply relatable collection of classroom reflections written by a teacher with over 35 years of classroom experience.

Written as 111 poems to teenagers past, present, and future. For anyone who has survived the world of teens, tests, phones, parents, school admin, teacher lounges, late work, missing pens, dramatic sighs, and “I didn’t do nothing” explanations.

Inside, you’ll find the thoughts teachers often have but rarely say out loud—the ones that are too true, too familiar, or just too professionally risky.

From students who “forgot” homework, to phones that are definitely not hidden, to parents who hear an edited version of events, this book captures the daily comedy and quiet care of high school teaching.

Perfect as a gift for:

Teacher Appreciation Week.

End-of-year teacher gifts.

High school teachers.

Retiring teachers.

Teacher co-workers and staff friends.

Education majors and new teachers.

Basically, anyone who knows classroom life is funny because it’s true!

This is not a teaching manual. It will not fix grading, paperwork, meetings, missing projects, or the student who asks what page you’re on five minutes after everyone else has started. But it might make a teacher laugh. And honestly, that counts.

A funny teacher gift book for high school teachers who have seen it all, heard most of it, and somehow still show up.
